I live in Alexandria and realize now that this was likely the reason the developer never did anything with the mall after closing it back in January. They must have had this deal to use the mall for filming in the works for quite a while. Hopefully after filming, the will start the mall renovation.

Alexandria is in Virginia, not in DC.
