Only once...A former colleague had a really small stone and seemed embarrassed by it herself - more than once she commented on her plans to upgrade one day. The thing is she insisted the ring come from Tiffany’s! She could have had something much nicer if she wasn’t obsessed with name brand.

I’m 38. I got married 20 years ago. It’s not something I even look at or care about anymore.

This. My engagement ring is a round diamond solitaire around .75 carats and is a high quality stone, but set in a yellow gold setting that seems out-of-style by today’s trends. Many new brides wouldn’t like it, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s what DH could afford as a young man and I love my ring - and him!

My ring is small AND not that attractive. My husband was pretty broke when we got engaged and has definitely upped his taste level in the past 20 years. But do I ever love that man, still, all these years later. Judge away, I don't care because I have the best marriage ever.
