Even that’s gender. They are now claiming that you can switch from male to female, not just man to woman .
Though its called gender reassignment surgery, I think the way gender and sex are used these days, sex reassignment would be more accurate? Since gender is used for social identity, but sex for physical reality. Surgery does change physical reality.
Except the gov’t doesn’t assign sex based on chromosomes. If they did, we’d have six or seven different sexes. Instead, the government accepts the word of a doctor who —for 99% of us— took a quick peek between our legs when we were 3 seconds out of the birth canal. Only a few newborns have testing to clarify gender and even then, there’s only legally an A or B option regardless of what their chromosomes show. I’m a cisgender female married to a cismale and mom to cisgender kids, but I took college human anatomy, genetics, and sociology so I know how arbitrary male and female designations can be on a purely chromosomal level.

which is not relevant to PP's point, which is that sex is not based on chromosomes, but on genitalia. Which, in fact, CAN be changed. And are also not the same as "gender".

Anonymous wrote:it says they’ll use the term “sex assigned at birt” instead of biological sex which heavily implies they believe you can change your sex as in the past changing your gender was the entire point of these thingsAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:http://amp.fox5dc.com/news/local-news/fairfax-county-school-board-approves-controversial-changes-to-sex-education-policy
