I feel badly for the kids of the D list reality stars who get dragged into their parents search for fame like the Real Housewives.

I don't feel sorry for them at all. It's amazing to me that the parents say they want to protect them as children, but as soon as that familial relationship gives them a leg up, the kids exploit the hell out of it. See, e.g., all the children of actors who have acting and modeling careers. I don't believe for a second that they are more talented or beautiful than everyone else. But they get the careers over people without those connections.

Yep. Alexa Ray Joel is a perfect example. She got all the wrong features of each parent. It's horribly sad and I can't help but wonder if that's a part of why she tried to kill herself. I do, too - though I think her nose job made her nose too thin for her face. But she has very strong and interesting features.

Nope, don't feel bad for them. I think a lot of what goes on with them is due to their parents. they could keep them out of the public eye.

My issue is that it seems like none of them pursue higher education or do anything real but model, party, date crazily, spend parent's money. Instead they should make something of their own lives.

The fact that we are discussing someones physical beauty as if it is of actual importance is probably why some of these people have issues. Perhaps if you knew them in real life and knew what kind of person they are ,you would think they are beautiful regardless of what they look like.

It's no wonder people have such a difficult time having self esteem.

First person I thought of. Damn her mom is hot. And she is just normal. Which in any other family would be fine. But your mother is Christi Freaking Brinkley.

The worst.

Only in the sense that some idiots think these kids are lucky to be wealthy and have famous parents. No, they've just been dealt a different set of challenges compared to kids who get free meals at school.

Christie Brinkley’s daughter with Billy Joel is the notorious case of this. She did not get her mother’s looks. She looks ok now but she’s had sooo much plastic surgery, it’s sad. I think she tried to commit suicide once too.

I did feel sorry for Bobby Kristina. Her mom was uber talented/beautiful and she (poor thing) looked like her dad and didnt inherit her voice.

There are worse things in life OP. I know what you mean but many celebrity kids turn out fairly normal.

Also, their lives are not weird and terrifying. Their lives are normal to them. Its what they know.

There are plenty of kids who have escaped their parents’ fame and live quiet lives in obscurity. It’s really only a problem when the kid tries to benefit from their celebrity.

I can see it as more of a positive of a celebrity’s child, say in Hollywood, wants to work in the same field. You cannot say they don’t have a huge leg up. Sure rumor Willis is ugly, but her success is 100% due to her name. She never would have made it in this field without her parents. But perhaps that’s the problem. Why acting, rumor? Did she feel pressured into following in her parents’ Footsteps?

But, Hollywood is full of mentally ill people. That’s hard.
