It’s quite the opposite.

Stereotypical gender roles are far more entrenched among poorer people than well off and better educated people. The reason you see more housewives among higher incomes is because they can afford to have the wife not work. But that is a conscious decision reflecting the family’s needs and wants. You are clearly not from the upper middle or upper classes because most women outside the genuinely wealthy do work. And they work in the professions and all sorts of roles. And there is a clear pattern of high achieving men preferring high achieving women as well.

Regardless of whether the wife stays at home in the 1950s model or works, the marriages among the better off are much more stable and divorce rates are much lower. This reflects that UMC and UC marriages are more likely to be based on equality and common understanding and respect. Divorce rates for the poorer are much higher and they are also increasingly not marrying at all.

Given that the Viking / Celtic warrior woman lived in a highly patriarchal society where women were not only chattel but at high risk of rapes and brutal murders by a rival clan, and most likely lived a short and nasty and brutish and primitive live, I’m guessing you chose the lady of the manor in her safe and comfortable manor house with plenty of servants and a sense of order and respect and who occupied herself with the household management and organizing social events and leading charity endeavors.

I find that the poor and working class girls that I teach are very committed to traditional gender norms. They just will likely lack the opportunity to fully embrace a SAHM lifestyle. They will probably end up working outside the home and handling all the traditional wife duties as well.

Oh, but when you get really high up on the social ladder, you get to the eccentrics. That's when all the real fun begins.

It's not just gender roles. UMC are more conformist in general.

Men in the UMC and UC are more traditional in their mindest and work hard to provide for their families. In the lower social classes men are either unable to provide or do not want to be the sole financial breadwinner.

And people who are smarter - men and women - know that the dynamics and divisions between the two sexes are one of the great gifts and joys of life. They don’t try to fight it because they know they’ll never best nature. Instead they learn to play the game.
