I have another take, She realizes her situation sucks, but respects the fact that the shared in the creation and raising of children and that he earned her love. Whether she still loves him and why is her business, but there is something to be said for this,

It's funny, all that money and effort to get that right engagement and wedding ring. Then tossing in the ring and the marriage... both worthless in the end. Should have gotten the cubic zirconia and worked on marrying the right person.

No, what is depressing is marrying a great man who slowly declines into a stranger due to suspected CTA and correlated alcohol abuse. But from there, selling my ring was the right choice for me. If you have a problem with divorce maybe stay off of the divorce related threads.

Selling mine for $5k online. Had GIA paperwork. Online. I sent them a photo of the ring and paperwork and they gave me a quote. Sent me a shipping label and direct deposit it. I’m currently trip shopping.

Just curious, are you still wearing the ring? And how long has it been since the divorce?

As much as I hated to sell my ring, the more baggage (literal and figurative) that you let go of, the easier it will be to move on. Obviously it is your choice, but I think letting go in baby steps is easiest. For me it was getting rid of the ring during the divorce, followed by getting rid of his name post divorce. The name change was actually far more liberating than anything.
