If I leave home for work at 6:45am, DH does the dropoff between 7am-7:15am, and I can come pick her up between 4:45-5pm, and DH can get home around 6:30pm.
If I am the one doing the dropoff at 7am, I won't be able to pick her up till 5:30-5:45pm.
Yeah, our work commute sucks, and daycare is in the opposite direction of traffic. Yes, DD has to be dropped off at 7am.
Those hours don't seem at all unreasonable based on the kids I see at our daycare. 7-5 is pretty common based on the sign-in sheets at ours. How many kids are there will depend greatly on the schedules of the other families in your room at that time. We've been in a room where the kids were mostly early to arrive, early to leave (I was nearly the last one at 4:30) and also in a room where we were early arrivers at 8 and early leavers at 4:30. All of that has happened in just over a year of attending since kids move through the rooms at a staggered time frame and family schedules can change.
