Curious about Maddux and why it may not be a good fit?

OP here. He goes to both MCPS and private speech. His MCPS therapist is actually quite competent (I work in special ed so I feel like I can judge her pretty accurately).
My son is only 4 so its too early to tell if other learning issues will develop. So far there are none besides the speech.
As I stated originally I have visited Maddux and do not feel it is the right fit for his particular needs.
I am professionally familiar with Mclean and would only consider it if other learning issues start to develop.
I think he would do fine in regular private as long as the class is small. I have visited places like Norwood and feel like he would be okay in a place like that (at least from where I can judge right now---- he is only 4!!!)

No, articulation errors are considered a Speech Sound Disorder. Speech and language are not the same. A language disorder is a disorder in the areas of syntax, morphology, phonology, pragmatics, and/or semantics. Accurate production of sounds can be affected while at the same time language is not.

Ho OP, does your child receive speech through school with a speech only IEP? How frequent is the speech therapy?

Clearly you don't have a child with a language disorder. Its very much a barrier. Kids are tested in public for reading partly with the ability to answer questions verbally and read outloud. Kids get held back in reading groups, or mind did despite high non-verbal test scores as they claimed he couldn't read as well due to articulation (one had nothing to do with the other but school did not care).

OP's kid doesn't have a language disorder. Only speech.
