It’s Ok to cancel shows because conservatives run them. There’s no need to validate that.

Agreed. I always thought David was the character that made Darlene bearable. But I don't see Johnny Galeckingiving up his current gig to come back.

I agree about the kids. They are boring and unlikeable.

In the one episode I say, Rosanne’s delivery reminded me of Jerry Seinfeld. Like she was reading her lines and was slightly amused by it...

Don't rely on the Daily Mail. It's such a rag that Wikipedia won't accept it as a cited source when people create Wkipedia articles. I'm amazed how it has gotten a lot of Americans turning to it as "news" when in Britain (where it's based) it's considered just a gossip sheet.

Ummm, That's why we read it. It has the best gossip.

I hope they can pull this off, because I really feel for the crew and writers on the show. They committed to this show for a second season instead of finding jobs on other shows, only to have the rug pulled out from under them when the hiring season is largely done. Those people don't have guaranteed contracts like the stars do, so they have to scramble to find new jobs out of season. A commitment from ABC to fast-track a spin-off would be huge for them.

ABC can’t revive the show without Roseanne Connor‘s character because it would still be paying money to Roseanne Barr. Roseanne Barr was a creator of the original show.

I'd watch it, always liked Darlene.

Think they should have Rosanne's character OD on opiods off screen. Love all the other main characters, so would still watch.

Agree that Barr seems to have a mental illness or has become addicted to medication in real-life. Maybe the stress of doing the show put her over the edge.

Roseanne herself was awkward/forced and it made me sad to see how bad her acting is now when I really enjoyed her on the first run of the show. And the actress that plays Becky is really terrible.

I hope they can make a spinoff work.

+1. Dan and jackie were way better actors. Let’s see how it goes.

Just kill off Roseanne and the show can continue.

That's kind of a brilliant idea. Let her be a victim of the opiod crisis. Let her go to Mexico for her knee surgery and die under anesthesia. They could make it relatable and poignant.

This could be interesting if done right. I like Darlene as a character, always have. More interesting than Becky.

The whole reboot was very flat and uninteresting. All the actors seemed to only display one emotion: Rosanne screeching, Sara Gilbert pissed off, Becky whiney, Jackie whiney. It was so painfully predictable. The storylines aren't interesting enough to carry the show without the marquee name.

BTW I agree that Roseanne seems mentally ill. I read the latest controversial tweet and then started scanning the rest of her Twitter feed. What a cesspool of conspiracy theories and hate.

Anonymous wrote:I think John and [Laurie] are the best actors on that show. BUT the relationship between Jackie and Roseanne and Dan and Roseanne are vital to the show. I don't see a show working without those relationships. The original had some amazing sister/sister and husband/wife moments and relationship building.

I don't know what Roseanne was thinking but she not only typed that Planet of the Apes "joke" out but also hit send.

She deleted it fast and apologized right away but the damage was done. It's like she forgot for a moment that she was talking in public.

I don't get offended easily and I've always liked her show but I think we got a glimpse of how she talks to her inner circle. I'm sorry for her coworkers but I think that Roseanne killed the show for everyone and that her coworkers' careers, at least in terms of the Roseanne connection, are toast.
