Too premenopausal - the moodiness, fatigue, slowing metabolism, feeling frustrated that it's easy to pack on the pounds, but harder to shed them, FT job stress now that the kids are in school, etc.

No desire to have more sex. I need to be carefree and relaxed to revert back to my nympho days.

My sex drive increased in my 40s so I left my very low libido husband (kids were both grown) and found some guys who were way more into sex, it was great. One of them needed Viagra but that was pretty awesome too. I didn't just leave him because of the sex, by the way.

47 y.o. DH here, and I'm still waiting to experience this phenomenon with my 43 y.o. DW

48, single mom with a kid, and my high libido is even higher now. I still wake up with wet dreams, sometimes twice per night or once in the day, once at night. I work out regularly too

This post is a winner. Please keep them coming.

I think this happens but it's rare. Most of my friends who are long term married have sex to keep the marital glue, not out of a sense of desire. Perhaps these high libido women are single.

I am a woman in my 40s and I have always been a horndog.

She’s likely tired of you. But some dude she works with? Maybe.

yeah. I posted above. very high libido, but no kids and no husband. i doubt i'd have the energy for frequent sex if i was taking care of little kids.

Wife here. It happened in our late thirties.

Maybe I’m just more confident.

Interesting. I became a mom at 40 and a single mom at 42 and not only did my libido tank, my general energy level seemed to decline. I’m now 50, remarried, and on the pill. My DH is late 50s and he’s probably the horniest human being I have ever met. We had sex three times over the weekend and I gave him a blow job and he complained that I didn’t want to have at it on Monday morning... my energy level and libido have gone up but mostly I think because DS is older and my new husband is very helpful...

OP here. It will probably turn around for you soon. You're just a couple years behind my wife, and she went through that too. Our youngest is now 6 and thing's are looking up. She's much better now, but still isn't how she was in her 20's...which why I'm wondering about the 40's.

Fingers crossed then!

You won't go through it while on the pill. It's the perimenopausal wild hormone ride. I was like an 18 yo. It lasted a few years. They were glorious, wild years. Slowing down now that I'm post menopause in my early 50s. I know quite a few women that shared the experience, but only those whose hormones were fluctuating normally, without hormonal birth control.

the pill is a known libido killer
