We just bought the ride safer vest and delight booster. I was going to do the bubble bum, but my DD is thin and doesn't quite meet the 40lb threshold. With ride safer, it's 35 lbs.

Bubblebum. Dc is close enough. Or buy a cheap/light weight cosco highbacked car seat. They do surprisingly well in safety ratings. Don’t know about the stroller - I have 4 kids & none of mine would have used a stroller at 5!

OP, buy a cheap car seat for travel until your child gets bigger. Don’t rent a car and pay to park it.

Good boosters need the child to be 40lbs - you didn't read that the OP's child is less than and also boosters are heavier than a bubblebum which I would get if the weight is right!

I did read it. Who cares? Like he's not going to gain some weight between now and the trip?

Not necessarily going to gain 3 lbs.

Lol if it was so easy for her child to gain 3 lbs in a short period (I am assuming OP is going this summer song), then said child wouldn’t be so light. I speak from a place of experience...my child had a feeding tube for a while and was a preemie. It’s been such an uphill task. We celebrated when we crossed 20lbs. You wouldn’t undertstand with your specious logic and your gruff attitude.

Not OP. But I am guessing OP is used to renting a car or using Uber in cities where Uber x family is available. I remember reading that it’s only widely available in like 4 cities. Easy to overlook that it’s not in all cities.

Exactly. Just feed your kid some milkshakes between now and the trip. Really nothing to get so worked up over.

OP. DH thinks that after spending $325 a night at the hotel for 5 nights, I am trying to be cheap because I don't want to pay $70 a day for parking at the park hyatt or $60 a day for car rental. We should have waited to do this one till my 37lb kid is at least 40 lbs. I guess not my best planned trip. And I thought I had it all figured out (except the transportation!).

Ignore the PP. That is not a logical comment for Chicago 'downtown'.

I agree with you, I wouldn't want to spend $130 a day on a car I am barely going to use.

We alway rent a car as its much safer. The bubble bum in a stranger's car is not a good choice. Go to a cheaper hotel with cheaper parking. If you can afford a 5 star hotel, you can afford to rent a car and pay parking.

You can get size small for the vest which starts for 30 lb kids.

Midway to Mag Mile on public transport is a little more complicated because you have to switch lines. Your hotel is a quick bus ride to Navy Peir though and near the red line which means an easy trip to the ballparks.
