The very fact that you are defending yourself should make you understand that you made a mistake. Don't pick different religious practices "at random". Some of us are very familiar with them.

My friends who do Kundalini yoga wear all white.

I wear ankle length skirts because its cool and my legs don't look that great, has nothing to do with religion.

I am Baptist and live around a jillion baptists and nary an ankle length skirt.

The Mennonites here don’t even wear ankle length skirts/ dresses.
