Colleges will consider this too so in my opinion (2 daughters who have a played on top college teams at strong academic institutions) you are better off playing on MC Elite or Cardinal if you can’t make Capital A if the goal is to play college lacrosse.

Mostly true except that there are a few every year who do make the trek to Baltimore for those teams. Plus every once in a while a dissatisfied Capital player, who maybe got screwed over in placement, will move to Skywalkers. I can think of 3 girls who have done this in the past few years.

True. Capital Orange is better than both - by far.
Not at the 21 level. Rebels Black and MC Elite Midnight are definitely on par with Capital Orange, if not better. At the older age groups it might be true that Capital is the only game in town but that's just not the case anymore. In terms of track record over time, sure Capitals has been sending girls to great places and nobody disputes that but you will see that change with other clubs and they will be doing the same. My daughter actually doesn't play for either Rebels or MC but I have seen all three teams play and there is no difference at the 21 level between Capital Orange and the other two.
One difference I will note is that many girls on Rebels are coming from GC or public schools in MD so they are not gunning for the same colleges - this is largely a socioeconomic thing. It really just speaks to the demographics of where the club pulls from.
Okay so you are saying for the class of 2021 the Capital "B" team" is equal to other local clubs' "A" teams. That may be true but keep in mind that the class of 2021 has an unusually large number of talented girls. I wouldn't expect the same results for 2022 or any other year. 2021 is likely an anomaly, not an emerging pattern. Also, because of its name recognition and longstanding reputation girls on the Capital "B" team will have better college recruitment opportunities than those on other clubs' "A" teams. That is a provable fact.
Cardinal, and I believe the other HS teams, do not stick to their MS players when recruiting for 9th grade. They know there is other talent and will cut. Honestly, most clubs on the MS level are not keeping players, they are always looking for who will make the team better. The HS teams keep their folks.

True, in theory, but the reality is that Cardinal, MC Elite and VA Metro, which are all teams the girls cut from Capital try to join, do usually keep many if not most of their previous players. Just ask around. Tryouts are supposed to be open but these clubs go with the girls they know all most of the time. If a player isnt good enough to make Capital she isnt likely to make a big enough splash at one of these other clubs to beat out a known player.
As for HS teams keeping their players - that has been the model but its changing. Capital, as of last year, requires a try out every single year of HS. Not many girls will be replaced but it has already happened that a new player beat out a returning player. Since Capital is the premier team in this area, look for other clubs to follow suit.

Because many girls don’t make Capital. Some are good players who may not have any other decent choices. This happens to many Pride players especially. They either are the best and make Capital or have to scramble, along with many Stars black players, to find a high school team. Cardinal and MC Elite may take a few but they have full or mostly full rosters of girls aging up from their 8th grade teams. Same with VA Metro. There is definitely room for another high school girls club.
