I think if your top preference is a two-hour shift each time you a.)Need to find someone who lives 10minutes or less from you and b.)Offer a higher rate.

+1 on this. Its not worth driving for 1 hour to work for 2 hours. If the person lives by and could be there in 5-10 minutes, then it may be worth it for them, otherwise the per hour rate may be high or pay them for their travel hours as well. So instead of paying for 2 hours, pay for 3 hours to account for commute and sweeten the deal.

Sorry, we pay her $25/hr, and found her though friends that were moving out of the area and wanted to find her another job because she is so good.

We have a housekeeper 4 hours at a time, 4 days a week. I don’t think she would be willing to commute to our place for only 2 hours at a time. She also works for other families when she’s not with us.

Our good friends have a housekeeper that comes daily 7:30-1. They pay her 2k a month plus a lot of extras
