Not-old woman here and it’s sadly obvious many women abandon their husbands after they have a baby. Why get married when all you want is a sperm donor?

And no, you won’t “run yourself ragged” by simply being kind and loving to your spouse instead of nitpicking their parenting skills and pushing them away at the slightest hint of affection.

I actually feel really sorry for the women posting that sh*t here as well as for their sad sack husbands who got duped into thinking they had a wife

I was going to actually ask OP how was her parents relationship with each other and her? My parents weren’t the type to make the kids the center of the universe to the exclusion of everything else so I’m aware kids grow up and leave the house. My dad was very hands on so I wouldn’t know what “not ready for kids” looks like for a grown adult man with kids. Whatever imperfections in the marriage, your ex was capable of using his words to explain his frustrations and to have asked for a divorce first before embarking on an affair.

Yeah, ok, but a decent man wouldn’t leave his family over that, he’d give it a grace period.
Also - this seems crazy sexist - was he not spending any time with his own daughter? Why did he have so much time to feel neglected? Having a baby is supposed to be overwhelming for both parents.
I had your complaint about my DH after we had a baby. Did I leave him? Of course not.

Your DH was very immature and self centered. Sounds like bad reasons to break up a family.
