I think Jeff responded to these sorts of things in another thread. The answer was no.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Why are some so determined that Jeff needs to change the name of the forum?
A name change won't actually change anything.
Stick to topics you're comfortable with, don't read further if you feel attacked. Or slightly insulted.
I’m the OP of this thread and an agnostic. I don’t care if Jeff changes the names as I will continue to join in any conversations I wish. I made the suggestion b/c some religious posters seem confused/offended when people like me chime in. Including “philosophy” in the name may clear that up.
Attacking others is never cool, but not totally unavoidable in in this space. I just keep my skin thick and blinders on and ignore the “haters.”

We now stick to religious for religion topics only. There is a very clear intent to insert atheism and other philosophies into Religion forum. It won't work. You'll only get others that are like minded responding to you. Sometimes, I think that's the only purpose of this forum anyway.
You want to ban atheist topics from the forum? Why?
I don't. Most religious people have deserted the forum. It seems that was the intent among those hell bent on not leaving the Religion forum alone. I and other believers now stick strictly to religious topics.
I agree.
I only contribute now on thread like "where can I find a church with a good contemporary choir" type posts.
Otherwise I have abandoned the religious forum.
This is sad. Why are some atheists so determined to demean the religion of others?
Atheists tend to be liberal, by a large measure, and as we have seen in the politics forum, liberals enjoy demeaning people with whom they disagree. I don't think it's an atheist thing....I think it's a liberal thing.
+1 I think they get overwhelming support for their bullying in the Political forum so there is no one else left for them to bully, now they are onto Religion forum, next will be Pets and Home improvements. The pity is that there were so many religiously knowledgeable people in the Religion forum where a believer could have deep theological discussions. But now that's impossible. It's like they decided to ruin the Religion forum altogether. In the end they will just have each other to pat on the back while proclaiming that they are "spiritual and not religious".
