Have you considered egg donation or embryo donation? You are more likely to find Jewish donors than Jewish birthmothers.


Op here. We would need to use a gestational surrogate plus donor egg since my uteus is the problem. I have implantation problems. We cannot afford donor egg plus gestational surrogate that would be over 100K. I have dine 5 ivfs and have no more embryos so we would need a donor egg but like I mentioned we can't afford a surrogate. So adoption is our only option to build our family but I'm concerned about the religion aspect.

Why didn't you ask THEM if they know of any other jewish adoption agencies? Holy crap, how inept are you people if you can't figure that out?!


Op here. You are being very rude. I did ask them if they were aware of any other agencies and they said they did not know of any and our adoption lawyer also did not know of any. I also signed up with the other link posted , the Jewish children's adoption network but was told they almost never have any leads maybe once a year and usually for teenagers. We have been signed up with them for 2 years now and I have followed up bit it's hasn't led anywhere. Unfortunately there just aren't any adoption agencies that tend to have Jewish placements even in nyc, I called every adoption agency I'm nyc to inquire.

^^ Not an agency per se, but a "matchmaker" dealing only with Jewish babies looking for Jewish families. Could be helpful to you.

Op here I called them a year ago and they told me they only work with adoptive parents from floruda. So we are not eligible

Check the placement rates. Very few Jewish birthmoms place. Very few.

In our experience it was true. We did private adoption and would get calls from potential birth mom's looking for a good Christian family. Down south and other areas are not very open to other religions. In some cases, it does make adoption harder.

For enough money you can do Utah. They import birth moms due to the no revocation period and lax laws. Some adoptions could be considered unethical but most do not care and only care about getting the child. We got an offer from a Utah agency. It was really questionable so we said no.

I was adopted at birth. My birth parents were Christian while my parents are Jewish. I was given a mikva and converted while I was still an infant.

I 100% consider myself Jewish and am practicing. I married a Jewish man and plan to raise our children Jewish.

However, that's just an anecdote. The truth with adoption is everyone's experience is different. Just because I felt one way doesn't mean that someone who went through almost the same experience would feel that way. All you can do is go in with an open heart, and support your child in whatever they choose later in life.
