Seriously? SOLs are right around the corner, and the teacher was there for the vast majority of the year.

Anonymous wrote:So, first we have Ms. Tochterman of HWES get busted for shoplifting at Target and now we have another FCPS employee get busted for shoplifting AT TARGET? This is nuts. Tocheterman made it past her first hearing but her hearing for her felony charge has not been held yet. I know for a fact that this matter was discussed by staff at all area schools so why in the world would Ms. Kerrigan follow in the footsteps of Tochterman?

Ms. Gros had never even said a peep to the parents. We have IB exams and the teacher isn't here and the principal can't even notify parents. It's been over a week without an IB teacher.
You would think if a teacher is arrested and missing class for a prolonged period something should be said to the parents. I'm really surprised FCPS is letting parents find out from police reports and their kids instead from the administration.
+1 One would expect better lines of communication between parents/students and FCPS. This is also a moral issue.

I'd hire her as a tutor if she is that good. I remember all my good teachers.

The fact she hasn't been there since she got arrested is all you need to know. She won't be back. The school should be keeping parents in touch.
Like the teacher who pulled off the student's hijab?
Stupid comparison. That teacher only pulled back a hoodie and inadvertently removed a hijab. Not at all analogous to larceny.
