Figure it out, people...where is most of the population density (hint, not other counties outside of NoVA) and who makes up the bulk of the poor in NoVA in the schools and health areas?

People in NOVA vote overwhelmingly democrat, and that's essentially the consent of the governed to be asked to contribute more of their money to the state and county.
If people weren't ok with paying more taxes, the Fairfax Board of Supervisors would be more republican. But it isn't. So people should expect to pay more because they support democrats.

Actually we pay more taxes because the republicans who govern the rest of the state suck our tax dollars out to keep their towns afloat while denying needed funds for our roads. We pay the most in taxes in the state but because there are more voters to the south they control our tax money. At some point, enough people will get sick of it atry to break away for real. Let's see how it goes for California.
I hope and pray every day that California leaves the US.
That was meant to read break apart as in separate states, still within theUS. We need a Northern Virginia and Virginia split. Cut it off after Woodbridge...
We in NoVa would gain by that, as we would keep our money serving this area rather than sending it off to support the rest of the state. Our state taxes would drop. But then the rest of the state would be poor and lack services - making it another West Virginia. It's just income redistribution to make sure it doesn't happen, just as is done in the federal level....just only in the state.
Yes, i'm aware ... thats exactly why I think we need it! As much as northern va pays in taxes, we should not need additional funds to pay for roads. Its outrageous. The rest of the state is sticking it to us because they can - mocking us as liberals but keeping their hand out to take our taxes for their towns.
I dont think a southern VA would be totally sunk. They still have the Richmond suburbs and tidewater. Milk those two for all they're worth and see how well others like it.
