Post a picture. I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that it's the invasive lesser celandine and not a native wildflower. Lesser celandine is rampant throughout our woodlands around here.

This is my guess too. Rounded leaves. Grows in clusters. Loves wet.

I very much doubt you're seeing the native green and gold. I don't know how to post pictures in the thread, but what you're most likely seeing is lesser celandine, which is a truly terrible invasive that is blanketing our parks, invading yards, and outcompeting all the native wildflowers:

The flower that grows in the wood behind my house and unfortunately in my yard - keep the grass from growing and then die off in about a month so sites that should have been mulched aren't and sites that should have grass don't .....Don't think you want it in your yard...
