But so what; at least they got into somewhere. What does it matter to you or anyone else.

Top schools like geographical and public/private diversity, and there aren't many places to look in DC other than Wilson.

But Wilson students generally don't shine at top schools compared to graduates of area privates and MD/VA publics. They are typically middle of the pack and quite a few struggle.

We'd all love to see your published research in this area. Please provide links and your CV.

Or are you just another annoyingly competitive parent getting your jollies denigrating a bunch of 18-year-olds?

Shouldn't everyone feel like they're struggling in college? If it's all easy, you're not challenging yourself enough!

Just curious how you know this. It seems a vast generalization.

Eh, I don't believe that. A kid with basic intelligence and a decent education is going to be able to rise to his/her level in college, no matter the high school experience.

Several posters here are just creepy, busybody parents with no social skills and a distorted value system who get a kick out of blaming DCPS's many shortcomings on hard-working students instead of on the adults who run the system.

YES, Wilson isn't perfect. YES, I'm sure Wilson students could get a "far more rigorous" education if their parents had (or chose to spend) $45K a year on boarding school or private school. YES, there are many kids at Wilson who nonetheless work as hard as they can to make the best of an imperfect situation--which is absolutely all that anyone can ask of them--and who deserve nothing but congratulations for making it into some top schools.

As long as the Yale admits outnumber the DC jail commits, we all should be happy.

Why are you all acting as if it somehow reflects badly on you that lots of Wilson kids are smart and high achievers?

Aren't they all? That's why Wilson has Honors for All!
