$3-$4K Single parent, one kid, one vacation per year. HHI $100K, so it's probably more than I should spend but I feel travel is important so that kids get a sense of the world beyond where they live. We generally travel in the US, but have gone to Europe twice (those trips cost more, obviously).

DD is in college now, so I know our days of family vacations are likely coming to a close.

I really try to do them as cheaply (but as comfortably) as possible, trolling online for low airfares, staying at less expensive hotels (but a step up from Motel 6 or Days Inn).

We spend about $15k/year on 2 international vacations and 3 domestic (long weekend trips only). We have a HHI of $435k, and two children. We cherish our vacation time together—memory makers.

We spend around $25k a year. We vacation for 4-6 weeks, mix of family and international and both. These are an investment in our children...they learn so much and will have memories forever.

DINKs (and will stay that way) in our late 20s with a HHI of just over $200k and we spend about $6-7k/year on one big international trip. We may up that in the future, although our 7-10 year plan involves permanently (more or less) moving abroad.

5-6k. HHI 220k. Will probably increase to 10k a year when youngest starts kindergarten.

HHI 230K. Depending on the year - 10-25K. DINKs with no debt other than mortgage

1 kid, current budget is $8k (which covers a 2 week family beach trip and another trip or two of some sort). Once the house is done being renovated it'll jump to $15k. DD's only 5, so once that's done (3-4 years) she should be a great year to start international travels (minus the Caribbean, Canada, etc).

HHI is $250k. We bought below our means, taking our time updating, and really work/live to travel lol.

When our HHI was closer to $300k, we probably spent around $15k/year on travel. Now that HHI is $220k we are trying to scale back a little maybe more like $8-10k. Its hard though - lifestyle creep is real.

Sounds like you dont want to spend time with your kids, you just ship them away.

Vacations are spending money on the kids. Family time together somewhere nice. We cherish the memories of our family vacations. We still talk about vacations from years ago.
