you can tell Blair magnet that your DC just made JMO. I am sure they will find a right class for him/her.

He feels so strongly that it's too hard that he's trying to persuade his sibling - who actually is likely to get placed in functions - not to do it.
I talked with a parent ahead of time who warned me not to let my child go into functions b/c the level of work and stress was so high. That parent had multiple children who had gone through the class.

I think the kids have to be recommended by current math teacher to even try it. And, I think she can only recommend 15-20 kids, and about 50 go to Blair magnet from TPMS.
We do not know as yet. In the event that the teacher recommends my DC for Functions, I would want to be prepared on how to teach my DC with the limited resources we have. If she does not get recommended, we will not have to worry about this.
How do we know if our DC gets a recommendation for Functions? Does Mrs. Manchester inform the kids or do you hear from Blair?
I think the invite comes from Blair since not everyone comes from TP.
I thought it was more a current teacher rec than a Blair invite. But, maybe a current Blair parent could shed some light?
Frm what I have heard, for TPMS magnet students, they get recommended by their teacher. For kids from other schools, they are recommended after summer math camp/ placement test at Blair.
Current function parent: Thank you. Could you please tell when TPMS magnet kids get notified about functions acceptance or denial?
Current Blair parent, could you provide info on this for TPMS magnet as well as other schools?
Yes, you are right.--A current function parent
