Eh, it's not a terrible idea. But it does make it super awkward when parents outright ask. On the other hand it's nice to have that excuse to deflect any questions.

Yep. I'm the teacher from before. Two months ago, I told my principal that I was CONSIDERING leaving because I'm barely scraping by on my salary. I told him that it was a courtesy just in case I found something and they called for a recommendation. They've already interviewed a replacement for me and told her that she'd be starting next year. One of the central office folks who frequents our school also pulled me aside to say how shocked they were to hear that I'm leaving. I wish I hadn't said anything.

When are the job fairs, haven't seen anything posted yet this year? Seems like lots of unknowns in general with lots of the architects of Ed Reform now gone: Henderson, Kamras, Pick and others.

Kamras and Davis left months ago. Hadn’t heard yet about Pick. Where is he heading?

I couldn't imagine anyone from outside DC wanting to come into a system with no chancellor or deputy mayor for education.
