Yes, MCCA-KFG is eliminating the school-aged classroom (it's consistently under-enrolled, from what I understand, because most kids got to before/aftercare at the elementary schools) and adding an 18-to-24 month classroom. So--not infants, but younger than any of their current classrooms, which start at age 2. The director didn't say when this would happen. They will not be doing Summer Adventures this summer (the school-age day camp program) so my guess is maybe they'll start the new classroom over the summer?

My DD is on the waitlist for the 18-24 month class and I believe they said it will open in June.

I was on the waitlist for the 2yo program and I think they automatically added us to the 18-24 month program based on her age.

Monday Morning Moms can be a good resource, depending where exactly you are looking for care- IME they have more providers further out in the burbs than close-in.

I’m interested in this too. Please keep posting! I need places that have summer, full day care (so I don’t think SSDS or Rock Creek from this list would work). Please add more recommendations that fit the bill!

I disagree too!

My children attended 6 years buenos amigos and we couldn't be happier with the staff, the curriculum and the clean and loving environment. My second child graduated last August from the preschool class and we were happily surprised at how well prepared she was for kindergarten.

All families stay at BA at least 2-3 years and we know each other very well. I personally don't think the above comment was made by any current or former BA family.

We are not fluent in Spanish but did not have any problem communicating with the junior class teachers, their English may be basic, but that doesn't mean they are not knowledgeable caretakers. They are professional at what they do and that was enough for us.

I disagree. We been there for about 10 months now and my LO loves all her teachers. They're a bilingual daycare (spanish/english). Some of the junior staff are primarily spanish speakers, which is a plus or minus based on your abilities. Nonetheless, I appreciate that LO has opportunity to learn multiple languages before K.

I agree you may not be able to get both kids in somewhere together right away. If you can get the 2yo into a center like Karasik, Circle Time,or Bright Horizons you will get prioity for the infant. You could do a nanny share in the meantime. In home daycares are another option but even then the good ones do not typically have a lot of openings.

That's what we did. I had the older at Karasik and the younger at Family Academy (awful) until the baby got off the wait list. It didn't take too long, and it was worth the wait.
