I had "hot connection" stickers and short time tranfer luggage on various airlines. It always comes out first. It's the long connections where I don't like CDG. Munich and British Airways terminal in London are my favorites in Europe.


Noooo! Friends don't let friends fly BA intra-Europe economy. Also BA has two terminals and 2 sub-terminals at LHR. And since its not a Schengen country you will have to clear customs again at your final destination.

The first two sets of restrooms were closed and the third set had the long line, so I walked well over 10 yards!

The private cars are only for first class. I’ve flown it on AF before, it’s pretty incredible, they even give you pajamas. I’ve also flown all the other classes before, and AF is still fine, even regular coach.

Since you are going to Eastern Europe, also look at Austrian. Part of Lufthansa so pretty good on the overseas portion. Gets you closer to your final destination as Vienna is further east than the others.

Assuming no price or time difference, would go with the following:

1. Lufthansa through Munich
2. KLM
3. Lufhthansa through Frankfurt
4. Air France

Also, the internal Europe flights on all of them in economy are tight. Pretty much Spirit Air tight. They have all had to cut back on that because of competition from Ryan Air and the like. One other advantage of Munich- shortens the length of that crappy flight.

That's not a normal experience unless you're flying first class or have top tier status with the airline. I'm sure you know that, so posting this is a little misleading.

+1 to the most recent PP. My experience going through CDG on Air France has never been anything like the description above.

For experience I like Air France but too many strikes in CDG makes me prefer Lufthansa. I don't think KLM has great service, but in truth all three are decent.

For a desirable connection time, route, or price, I wouldn't hesitate to fly any of the three.

If you are going business class, I prefer Lufthansa. The 5:45 pm flight to Frankfurt has the upper deck that is quiet. I don't love the food on KLM. But really, what matters is your destination. I hate the buses for connecting gates and there are fewer of those in Amsterdam than in Frankfurt or CDG.
