I have voted for Mr. Levine in the past elections but surely have doubt in light of Levine's weak defense as well last month's (March 6, 2018) Alexandria City "guilty" finding of local Alexandria MS-13 murderers participating in this murder. Should we be next?
As a mom, I recall the grizzly finding of the body found at "the Pit" off Braddock and Cameron in Alexandria City a few years back. I frequented this area w my kids.
I watched Levine in yesterday's Ingraham video, and am pretty ashamed that both Gov Northam and Mr. Levine would in any way support a bill limiting ICE in Virginia "sanctuary cities" and in my city. There is just no defense for MS-13 murderers. I know Alexandria City is not, by strict definition, a sanctuary city, but also know that MS-13 members are here in Alexandria and do murder across Northern Virginia and will probably continue to do so. Governor Northam has set his tone on this matter and it is just plain wrong.
Alexandria members of MS-13 convicted of kidnapping, murder
Three Alexandria residents were sentenced to mandatory life in prison for their role in a kidnapping, murder and extortion conspiracy in Northern Virginia, the U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Virginia announced in a news release. The three were part of ten people, consisting of both MS-13 members and their associates, charged for their roles in the crime.
Evidence presented at trial established that in April and May 2016 MS-13 members and associates Lelis Ezequiel Tremino-Tobar, 21, of Alexandria; Carlos Jose Benitez Pereira, 22, of Alexandria; Daniel Oswaldo Flores-Maravilla, 20, of Alexandria; Dublas Aristides Lazo, 28, of Leesburg; Juan Carlos Guadron-Rodriguez, 23...

... if any were to come up in Virginia, which they haven’t. If that were to occur, then the legislature could address it in a way that was narrowly tailored to the actual problem and wasn’t overly broad or restrictive. When all they’re doing is addressing a non-existent problem in the abstract, veto is appropriate.
Don't be obtuse. Fairfax County is a sanctuary city. And we have the precipitously declining schools and property values, horrible amounts of litter, and MS-13 activity to show for it.
What specific regulations and policies has Fairfax enacted that make it a sanctuary city?
Do you really need to pretend that a fact known for decades doesn't exist? The incidious thing about Sanctuary Cities is that they break the law - it's not that citizens enact laws to create them, it's that they flagrantly *ignore* existing laws, which circumvents citizens.
For one, the sheriff of FFx just recently announced she won't be keeping illegal immigrants in jail for ICE to retrieve them. You can argue technicalities all day - this is deliberate and inappropriate.
That announcement in no way violated the law, Fairfax decided to stop participating in a voluntary ICE program that most Virginia localities don’t participate in because it was taking up too many county resources and opening Fairfax up to the risk of lawsuits that ICE wasn’t going to indemnify them for. The bill Northam vetoed would have had zero impact on Fairfax’s decision here.
Illegal immigration violates the law.. Why are you invoking the law? You lose.
Then ICE can come pick people up from Fairfax in a timely manner rather than taking their dear sweet time and expecting Fairfax to use its tax revenue to feed and house them for additional days and defend the occasional unlawful detainer action when someone is misidentified. Fairfax will still notify ICE that they have someone who appears to be undocumented, ICE just needs to be more diligent about doing its job.
WHY you would seek to destroy your own community? Do you realize how crowded and unsustainable this country would become if we allowed every foreign national the opportunity to come here and stay at their whim? Bullsh*t. The Sheriff is a Left wing shill who wants to put as many barriers in front of illegal immigrant removal as possible. Pretty much the MO of Democrats everywhere. This is insanity.
You are insane.
