I like this blog less and less. It now feels like a permanent ad for Nordstrom and Loft. Also what is up with a 40-something woman who mainly wears “denim underwear” (her words) in the summer?

theMotherChic is also in Philly and is also an ad for Nordstrom and J Crew Factory, sometimes Ann Taylor. Her pics are starting to feel forced and based on the marketing tie in.

I like extrapetite.com. I'm petite, so she speaks specifically to me...but I think her style hits good notes for professional and casual. She's in her mid- to late-30s, I believe...but she dresses in a young 40s way, I think.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned capitolhillstyle.com. It's focused on more conservative work/ business casual environments. She's about 35, has good and affordable style, and I like that she doesn't do sponsored posts, so it's all her honest opinion.

I like The Motherchic and Lipgloss and Crayons. The Mom Edit is less my style these days, though I have found a few things I've really liked via that blog in the past.

I know you asked for blogs, but also I recommend the Facebook group Outfit of the Day. ~9k members. No one is selling anything so no commissioned links. All regular people.

Each day has a theme, and people post pics of various ages and sizes. Comments aren't snarky but honest. Lots of good advice about sales or how things fit or where to find something particular.

She's English but most brands are international. Her instagram is even better than her blog:

Look through the archives at A Serious Job is no Excuse: aseriousjobisnoexcuse.blogspot.com. It's really old, but it is hilarious and the style advice (not fashion advice, *style* advice), is timeless. Read the early stuff for the "basics." It's so good.

I like hi sugarplum, Kelly in the City and Lemon Stripes. The later two are in their early 30s but I like their casual, preppy style.

I just started with this one, and so far seems ok?

And I still read corporette though it's so limited.

I like Motherchic. More affordable, also from Philly.

I like some of Motherchic, but I also feel like so much of what looks good on her body type (very slim, long legs) won't work for others. I don't expect every blog to have things for every body type, but hers feels so limited.

I also fell out of love with Mom Edit, too. Sigh.

I thought I was the only one losing interest in The Mom Edit! Glad to hear it's not just me. I don't mind when they highlight pieces from Nordstrom because that store is easily accessible for most of us and has good shipping and return policies. But the Loft....ugh. That's the place I go when I need something functional but not fashionable. TME tries so hard to make Loft fashionable and it's just not. What's been bothering me about TME is all of the new, random bloggers they feature now - most of whom don't seem to have much style. I like Shana and Scotti, but that's about it.

I feel similarly about the Motherchic. Interesting pieces and outfits every so often (usually from Nordstrom or JCrew) but nothing that really wows me. Sure, she can put a decent outfit together, but it's not anything that stands out.
