My husband and I are Clemson grads and did have a great time. We met working on the newspaper together. I love that it’s a small college town. It’s a great engineering school with lots of partnerships with area firms, including GE. Most graduates settles between Charlotte and Atlanta. My degree, Graphic Communications, was serious about getting jobs and two internships were required and all but a few were paid. Mine even provided housing, and I ended up working for one of them for a few years after graduating.
My DH went on a full-ride scholarship and was in the honors college. He developed strong relationships with his teachers, both in and or if his major. He’d often go drinking at Nicks with his philosophy teacher.
It is a more conservative school, lots old southern families. Strong Greek community. Lots of monogramming. But I never felt left out or had a bad time meeting people not fitting into that mold.
The cost is way higher now than when I went, particularly for out is state. I primarily paid my way, so that would cause me pause today. But it’s in step with other schools.
