The fact the speedometer was pinned at 90 Mph doesn't mean they made that 90 degree turn at 90 MPH. The wheels probably kept spinning after they left the pullout and may have gotten up to 90 by the time car hit the ground. It seems illogical they could have made that turn at 90...they didn't go off the end of the turn out straight ahead of them, they went off the side...so it would have been a 90 degree turn. No way could that car have sped up to 90 if they had pulled over for a break/lunch/enjoy the view and started toward the edge from a stop; If they had pulled over to enjoy the view or eat or whatever, it could explain why the kids weren't belted in. Also, just because wearing seatbelts is the law, doesn't mean teenagers will do it or that their parents will enforce it.
I don't know of any rational explanation for the car going over the side of the cliff aside from suicide/murder. I hope they are able to get answers as well as find the other three kids, but I think it's possible there are aspects of this case that always remain a mystery. If the three missing kids did get swept out to sea, it's just a matter of time before they, or some part of them, washes up on another beach.
If they had pulled off the side of the road, their speedometer wouldn't have been anywhere NEAR 90 MPH. More like 20 MPH and slowing down.
The parents killed their kids. And the fact that none of between 3-6 kids were buckled up is just disgusting negligence.
PP, I don't understand your "logic" here. Buckled seat belts are NOT the issue when you are going to INTENTIONALLY drive your family off a cliff.
I'm not the PP. I doubt the moms enforced seatbelt use because they were old enough to buckle themselves in. When you don't buckle at this age Its usually out of habit. Yet the moms were buckled in. I think if seatbelts were used regularly in this family the kids would have buckled on their own. Its a crime if parents did not require seatbelt use.

This story has so many facets. LGBTQ, white women adopting black children, political activism, homeschooling, child abuse, possible outcomes of calling CPS/CPS actions, murder/suicide.
SIX black children. Why adopt so many when you don't have a personality that handles the stress well? Beating and starving the kids!

+1
I think that photo tells something other than what the media reported. It now seems likely the child was looking for protection from the 2 so called moms. The child appears to be attempting to cry out for help for himself and siblings. the moms were at a BLM march but those adoptive moms clearly did not care for the black lives she adopted and was supposed to care for. Instead the moms repeatedly abused and murdered those young innocent lives. The moms were living a lie.

Right around the time that picture was taken I heard a rumor that the kid was forced to hug the cop by his parents and that's why he was crying. But I can't find any reports to substantiate that, so it remains a rumor.
Secondly, conflicting news reports have said one mom abused the kids with closed hand punches for misbehavior. But the same reports say the mom CONVICTED of the abuse was not the one who did the abuse.
Then there are police reports from the other kid who said the first kid was lying about the abuse in the first place.
It's a strange set of circumstances all-around and I feel so bad for those kids. No matter what they deserved a family that loved them and the best life. And two parents, one of which didn't work at all, in one of the highest cost of living areas in the country with five siblings - is not that.

What breaks my heart is that lots of people knew something was wrong with this family - one of the moms pled guilty 7 years ago and the neighbors called CPS after the kids said they weren't being fed. This really seems like a tragedy that could have been avoided.
Too little too late. There were other warnings prior to that.
