This, this, this. In fact, they can be inversely proportional.

Yup. Look at Trump. Not meant to be political, here, but he’s the one who bragged about never changing a diaper.

Can't stand the "man", but I would not change diapers if I was a millionaire either.

Only middle class schmucks change diapers, not proles or billionaires.

My husband is a research scientist finding cures for heart disease and cancer, and will never ever make more than 100K in public research.

I am proud of his work and public service.

I hope OP is a troll. If she isn't, she has my pity.

To some women, those are good salaries. "Good salary" is subjective, kind of like "good looking".

Totally reasonable to expect spouse to make a good salary IF and only IF you are making a good salary too unless there is a mitigating factor like being the household manager, illness, etc

that's fine as long as he does all the nighttime feeding duty from a bottle while she pumps in the middle of the night, and does house chores, childcare 50/50.

I think that is unreasonable, especially if the prospective spouse has a more flexible job.

I’m mid-30s and make 400k give or take. Now what is it you plan to contribute?

I guess I have to go break it to DH that we have to get divorced, and he'll need to give up his parental rights over DS.

A good wife should know how to pinch pennies until Lincoln screams.

My DH made about half that when he was 30. He's now 35 and makes over $500k in cash plus he gets equity. When I married him he was 28 but I knew he had potential. He is also a great husband and father.
