Joan is a great name. Ruth, Jane, and Anne are also classic choices. For more than one syllable, how about Mary, Catherine, or Helen?


I really like Joan. As I associate it with Joan of Arc, it’s definitely a strong name. I also don’t know any kids with the name. Joanie would be a cute nickname for a little girl.
