frequent urination + thirst + wt loss are classic signs of diabetics. Unlike T2 diabetics, T1 are usually not overwt.

I assume she is not taking a diuretic for weight?

I have a good friend who was doing this in high school. She was not overweight but had body image challenges.

Not sure what weight has to do with this. Diabetes in kids and teens often happens in thin, fit children.

She does not have diabetes. She has small bladder.

lmao OP you are delusional. Not sure why you posted here if she “just has a small bladder”.

My 100 pound teen daughter would be dead now if I had assumed she was going to the bathroom 10 to 15 times a day because of a "small bladder."

You do not need a family history or to be overweight to have type 1 diabetes.

get to the drs to check for diabetes asap. My 16 year old daughters best friend was just diagnosed a few months ago and it was a huge surprise. No family history, she's super healthy (probably around 5'6" and less then 125 lbs), plays competitive field hockey, etc. My daughter said that her best friend used the bathroom a lot and when they'd have sleepovers, she'd get up 3+ times a night to go. So just because your kid is healthy, doens't mean she doens't have it. Make an appt ASAP.

My son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes just before he turned 12. No family history at all. His first symptom was frequent urination. I would have bloodwork done just to make sure.

Go to the pediatrician ASAP for them to test her blood sugar. If she starts having abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting you should go to urgent care because it could be DKA.

Our good friends daughter (early teen) has Type1 and they were shocked; get into the pediatrician ASAP.

SHe needs to be checked for Type 1 diabetes. Ninety percent of children diagnosed have no family history, including my child. Don't wait to rule this out, it can become extremely dangerous very quickly.

I would say either diabetes, or she has started having sex and does not realize she needs to pee as soon as she finishes.
