OP, I have no idea why people are being such assholes.

I'm in a similar situation. My friend has always been gorgeous and hasn't changed her appearance, but she's said before that she and her husband are basically friends and co-parents (she respects him but doesn't think of him romantically). She talks constantly about a guy at work, and once I saw her text him "ilysm" (which I had to google but apparently means "I love you so much). Sure, it could be in a friendly way, but I have suspicions.

Think I need to MYOB though. if she wanted to say it, she would, and if I accused her and it weren't true, it could ruin our friendship.

Wait, this is supposedly your best friend and you're quietly judging her and wondering instead of plying her with wine and being all "bitch, TELL"? Then you guys aren't "best friends".

I had no idea that getting off your ass and improving yourself meant that you are cheating on your spouse. Glad DCUM cleared that up for me!

Does she seem happy, or “off?” Maybe she just got tired of carrying the extra pounds and decided to make a change for herself, and one thing led to another (better diet and weight loss often leads to more energy).

Mind your own business. She might be getting ready to divorce him and is getting her "stuff together" before she has to get on the dating scene.

I wish the some of the divorced men would do the same before they enter the market.

If she's your best friend, just share what you wrote in the OP minus the speculation about her having an affair. "Hey Millicent, I've noticed x, y, z changes. How are you feeling? What's going on with you?"-and preferably have this conversation at bar and plan to uber/lyft home.

Just say you've noticed such and such about her and that you wanted to tell her that she looks amazing! She won't suspect that you're fishing, but may be dying to confide in someone, and that may open the door.
