This isn't about transexuals. This is about graphic sexualized images that he does not understand and doesn't need to know about right now. He didn't see a man in a dress. He saw a big erect penis on a person with boobs dressed like a woman. If he saw a transexual person on the street, I'd have no problem explaining that to him. This is a whole other level of information he does not need to have right now.

Sorry it’s distressing to you both. You are going to have to talk to him if he’s as upset as you think. It’s possible he’s just embarrassed though because you were there. Try to keep it as a matter of fact as possible to dial down his emotions. Kids take the parents lead for emotional reactions sometimes. Just focus on some guys like to wear dresses. Some men feel they want to physically be a woman and use hormones to start the transition. Don’t talk about the erection unless he brings it up.

You can be male by birth and identify as male and like to dress in drag. A man who dresses in women’s clothing is not necessarily transgender. OP I get you're in full speed mama bear mode, but it's not the end of the world. Just tell him that some people dress up strangely, and do strange things to their bodies. Has he never seen someone with a lip piercing? One of those big ear stretching things? Hell, a nose ring? Sometimes people do strange, different things to their bodies. And they dress different ways. You're making this out to be WAY bigger than it need to be.

DP. He didn’t need to see it, but he has seen it and now you have to deal with it. He’s especially upset because he has zero context to understand what he saw, and it’s uomto you to provide that context. Obviously not the full context, but at least enough to understand that it wasn’t a woman with a penis, it was a man wearing a dress because some men like to dress in women’s clothing (and vice versa).

I can agree with this. At least helping him understand what he saw. If I can get him to talk about it. He was so freaked out that he just wants to forget he ever saw it. But I feel like he needs to have some context of what it was that he saw. UGH.
