It also depends on the instructor. One made me feel bad that I wasnt keeping up (I would run, but at a slower pace, I would grab 5lb weights instead of 10). And I have a low resting heartrate....so I never stayed in the orange or whatever it was I was supposed to do, and she made me feel like it was because I wasn't working hard enough. I was killing myself and still couldn't get there, but it just wasn't calibrated for my body, so it was discouraging.

Completely disagree. It's pretty low impact other than the treadmill, and you can choose to do the bike or elliptical instead of tread.
It is very motivational and a friendly environment. All fitness levels.
