Absolutely not. We ran out of things to do in Barcelona in a couple of days and nothing else was really convenient for a day trip.

Other ideas-- Vienna-- there's outdoor hikes and such and boat rides and museums and a small amusement park and a beautiful city park and you could do a day-trip to the countryside.

Or Italy (not Rome) but the lake region or Florence.

French (or Italian) Riviera.

Munich! and a day trip to the castle areas outside the city.

We went with an 18 month old, but not pregnant. Even in the crowded neighborhoods, there are tiny playgrounds, parks and squares everywhere with lots of little kids running about. One of our best afternoons was spent in Placa de la Vila de Gracia having a very dilute vermut and watching the local kids entertain our toddler. The beach is really a fantastic sandbox for the little ones, even if you don't get in the water. For a taste of a small Catalan village populated by very wealthy people, try a rental in Sarria-Sant Gervasi right below Tibidabo.

I'd probably pick somewhere else. What are you looking for out of the trip?

We were there last June (not even the very end of June) and it was really hot. I wore a sundress, applied sunscreen constantly, and still got burned. It was about 100 degrees at the Park Guell.

Barcelona is one of the most amazing cities in the world, and June is not too hot there, but I frankly wouldnt go while 28 week pregnant on my first European trip.

I would do Sevilla or Madrid with kids. If you are set on going to beach go to a San Sebastián for a day or two.

I vote no, not because of the young kids, but because of being pregnant.
