Why is it that people always knee-jerk into visa plots?
As a foreigner on a non-immigrant visa, I take exception to that reaction. The world is not all hankering to live permanently in the USA, for goodness' sakes.
Millions risk their lives crossing the desert or in little boats to get here, so yes, many do have a hankering to live in the USA.
I have a good friend who is Chinese and here on a non-immigrant visa. She has warned me several times about the bad intentions of foreign women. I figure she should know.

However, it doesn't seem that different than avoiding a US citizen gold digger in DC that wants my money. In both cases, I would have to make an honest evaluation of a person's intentions and trust their character. I'm the one that engaged and pursued initially, so I would like to think things started off innocently. Marriage is way, way far off -- I'm mostly interested to hear how people dealt with the logistics and courtship stage.
