My son couldn't find a "real" job until he was 16 (and that was at Rita's, in MD). So many restrictions on 15 and younger - he couldn't even get a grocery store job. Your county might have a teen employment program - these are usually for the summer and fill up fast, so check it out early.

Mother's helper/babysitter and dog walker.

She typed a post on Nextdoor for our neighborhood and was overwhelmed with the responses. She loved setting her own schedule (thought she was big stuff) and good money too.

+1 Does your kid play a sport? The kid doesn't have to be a great athlete, just have intermediate knowledge. My 15 yo spent the summer working at soccer camps offered through the county rec program. It was unpaid but he worked 9-3 at the rec center where camps where held and were run by local sports companies - you know, the same companies where you can get some private coaching. My DS had gotten some coaching at one of the places and they sent an email out looking for summer camp counselors. Next summer, he'll get paid $7.50 an hour for it.
