The holiday for lonely hearts is called the anniversary. You know that day every year when you replay the worst decision and all the unhappiness that has resulted?

22:34 - actually, it's kind of tough out there. A lot of the nice men are with nice women. A lot of the nice men are with not-nice women who will likely turn them into not-nice men with baggage. There are a lot of single dudes out there but quite a few of them are single for a reason. (sometimes that reason is just "wants to stay single.") Not just me saying this - I've got literally dozens of female friends who are currently single/divorced and having a rough time out there or only recently met a nice guy after kissing a lot of frogs.

Oh, for heaven's sake. I hate it when people complain about problems that can be easily addressed. If you are feeling lonely or blue, call up a friend and go out to dinner, or order in and have some wine. Or just call up a friend you haven't seen in a long time, enjoy some wine and chocolates and a good long chat.

If you want to find romance, order yourself in an awesome dinner, pour a glass of red and put up an online profile. What's the harm?

Whining on DCUM isn't going to fix anything.

What if you’re married but still alone?

For singles who want to celebrate and still enjoy themselves, there are several events on meetup for singles to go have happy hour or dinner with a group of singles. Go meet some new people, maybe Valentine's Day is the day that you met that someone right.

November 11th (11/11) is your day. It's known as Singles Day in China, and more sales are done online than on Black Friday or Cyber Monday in the US.

Not true, also, why do something over and over that makes you feel bad? You're choosing that, it's not necessary.

No one even recognizes how alone we feel.

In college we would have Black (day of week), so this Valentine's Day would be Black Wednesday. All my single friends (co-ed) would plan a dinner at someone's house. We had so much fun being bitter together.

Women should chill and and go out with decent men. There are a lot of nice men out there. You really must be focused on the wrong things. Get over yourself

When you've lived through rape, assault, emotional abuse, and cheating at the hands of your SO, come talk to me.

In the meantime, why don't you get over yourself?
