we pay $250/week=1083/month for full-time daycare/preschool at a place for ages 2-5 for our 3 yr old. For our infant in an inhome daycare we pay $260/week or $1126/month.

So 2 kids, 3yrs and 4 months for $2210/month.

I've worked full time until recently but I'm considering going back 3 days a week. I know most places won't allow part time spaces for children under two, so my youngest 2 children will likely be going part time, but I'll be paying for full time spaces. After I pay for daycare my entire paycheck might be gone.

A nanny would be cheaper.

Bitch please! Stop judging on a thread that is not asking for any advice about how many children to have. It's not like the OP is the Duggars or something.

I don't know about the environment, but more babies are better for the economy....

We have a 2 yo and are expecting twins this fall. Our downtown daycare doesn't cut a break for siblings, and we will be paying about $4600/month until our older child transitions to the preschool room. (Or we go broke and leave DC!) Fortunately, that cost includes all diapers and lunch for the older one.

Financially it's insane, but we feel it's the best fit for our family and so it's worth it.

We have a nine-month old and a three year old at a day care in Reston, the baby is $1760 a month and the 3-year-old is $1340, for a total of approx $2900 (based on a sibling discount).

Three children is not out of control...even if she had 23 children, it would not warrant screaming at her online!

When we had our third, we opted for a nanny at a cost of $2600 a month. Good luck.

You could consider doing an in-home daycare for the youngest two for a couple years, until the oldest is in elementary school. I personally would not take the older one out of his/her current situation to move to a nanny. Too distruptive, and an older child is better off in a preschool environment rather than hanging out with a nanny, infant, and toddler all day. Not sure what the ages of the three kids will be, but you get my point.
