Never before has Marshall posted this message on their homepage. I think this means there are no transfers happening next year.
In the past Marshall/Madison have had a pretty much even trade of students each year. With Marshall closed to transfers, I hope Madison closes to transfers as well. We are already overcrowded.
Historically, I think it has been similar with the McLean/Marshall crossover. I wonder if they would consider a one for one exchange. So if 50 students at Marshall wanted AP and 25 at McLean and 25 at Madison wanted IB, they could all swap and not add to any of the school loads.
Why not just buy a home near Marshall and your kid will go to Marshall right?
OP wanted to transfer OUT of Marshall for AP.
and do you see the problem this will cause for the AP schools who cannot transfer OUT any kids to Marshall? it will cause them to become (even more) overcrowded. They are all at overcapacity. Either all transfers stop or none. Just my two cents.
Yes, I see the issue at some AP schools.
But Langley has under 2000 kids this year, will have a capacity of 2100 when its renovation is completed, and is projected to have 1959 kids next year. I don't see how it hurts anyone if someone zoned for Marshall pyramid wants to go to Langley and there's space, taking into account that the 10 or so freshmen from Langley who otherwise might have pupil placed to Marshall and South Lakes for IB won't have that option.

So.... people are getting in somehow.... Anyone want to share how to transfer into these schools which are closed?
Not at Marshall. There's an announcement on the website. The school is over capacity and getting trailers again. It is closed.
