Yes but NOT in a good way! Years ago someone died at our home due to natural/heath related causes. Police, ambulance, fire truck you name it were at my house. We had to talk to investigators, basically routine stuff. Still it was an unexpected shock. Some nosy neighbors outside gawking.

Next day my neighbor texts me saying the relatives of deceased were on a charity website trying to get money. These people were well educated, owned a nice home, good jobs with good insurance. Turned out they were trying for a money grab. We had to call our homeowners ins. and since I was well insured as in over 1 million they put me very high on their food chain with their best lawyers.

Nothing went to court because they were offered peanuts to protect a much larger policy I had. We didn't want them to get a dime, but it was pretty much out of our hands. The lawyers bounced it back and forth, said that's how business works. That was my 15, and more minutes of fame. It certainly taught me about money grubbers.

I started doing fitness modeling very part time with a local sports photographer who photographed me for a local ad, I train him. It turned out to work and being in the athleta catalogue this year was exciting.

My husband has been on the local news many times where we live, but he was in law enforcement before he retired, so it was to be expected. I requested that he not run for Sheriff because I do not care for my 15 minutes of fame, even if it's just in local politics. I prefer to keep my life private.

I have the same name as a once-famous food critic. Once I gave my name at a restaurant (because I made a reservation) and was treated like a star! Free appetizers, an introduction to the chef, the whole star treatment. It took about 30 minutes before the staff realized I wasn't the critic and I was subsequently ignored for the remainder of the meal.

I was misidentified as a French stewardess on national news and was in an MTV video that was pulled from the air after airing twice for indecent content.

A photographer submitted a picture he took of me as a kid in a national contest, it won. I got a trip to Disney World out of it.

A blurb from my blog was quoted in Washington Post Express paper that they hand out for free on the train. I have no idea how they found it because I only average about 20 visits a day. It "ballooned" to 100 for about a week. Someone called me and asked me to be a guest on an NPR show. That was my time in the limelight.

I was on CNN, and used to give a lot of speeches at national conferences. It was fun.

Yes, currently still there. Good and bad things - don’t like being stopped grocery shopping, etc - but on the other hand people have been warm and kind. “Can I give you a hug” is the most frequent comment from strangers. It has changed my life - I have to put on make up before I go out anywhere now and make sure I’m at least decently dressed. But don’t like having people staring at me while I’m eating lunch out, having people approach me with question “You look familiar - how do I know you?”. I expected more negative interactions, but instead people have been very warm and thankful, so made me think better of people out in the world. Spending more time on social media as Facebook group is now huge numbers. I know this will blow over with a little time and I’ll be happy when it does, would rather be anonymous out there.
