Because most families like to have names for their kids that flow well together whether it's because they share the same initial (a la the Duggars), or similar style of name. You don't see where if you named your kids Jim-Bob and Mohammed that would feel sort of off? Emily and Adedayo don't sound as if they are from the same family.
I'd steer away from Liam or other -y or -ly names but Emily is classic European/N American so it will go with most boys names of similar background. Jacob, Grant, Zachary and Benjamin were among my top boy name choices and they would all go with Emily.
