OP here. These are the names on my list as well. I like James, but not Jim or Jimmy. Is there a way of preventing others from using nicknames?

Maybe you think so but they have an awesome last name which probably contributes to why so many people like their names. I hate trendy names or names that instantly tell you what decade the kid was born in. It’s nice to have a name that have been popular for a long time, can be easily spelled, pronounced, and sounds appropriate no matter what age you are.

Because most families like to have names for their kids that flow well together whether it's because they share the same initial (a la the Duggars), or similar style of name. You don't see where if you named your kids Jim-Bob and Mohammed that would feel sort of off? Emily and Adedayo don't sound as if they are from the same family.

I'd steer away from Liam or other -y or -ly names but Emily is classic European/N American so it will go with most boys names of similar background. Jacob, Grant, Zachary and Benjamin were among my top boy name choices and they would all go with Emily.
