I'm a SAG-AFTRA member. I see current releases in my home. If you can tolerate an occasional "for your consideration" chyron banner during your viewing, it more than makes up for not having to deal with sticky floors, talking people and all the other things that make public theaters unbearable


Let's not forget how certain movie theaters are known for fattening-up the neighborhood rats... during the movie showing!!

I'm guilty. I met up w/a friend hadn't seen in years ran our mouths. During the previews, wouldn't have said a word during the main feature .. we got called-out by another couple. We totally deserved it. Sincerely apologized, were embarrassed. But then even though we were stone-quiet the rest of the time - -the other couple wouldn't let it go ...continued making ugly comments and glaring at us. It was like they went looking for this kind of confrontation to fill their day.

You must enjoy watching these movies alone at home because I cannot imagine anyone wanting to watch with you...you sound absolutely insufferable!

You got yourself in a tizzy and kept going “humph!” and shot dirty looks and are largely to blame that you had a bad time. I guarantee you the other people had a good time and never gave you a second thought. Roll with the punches in life, and you’ll be much happier.

No, I don’t talk in movies. I just don’t sweat these things.

Thank you for reminding me that I hate paying to see movies in a theater with people like this around. I'll wait for Coco to get to HBO.

Also - once we went to E Street with a couple friend and THEY talked throughout the film. DH and I were so embarrassed. The people in front of us shot them dirty looks throughout the film and they were oblivious. Some people seriously think they're in their living room.

When this happens, just get up and leave. Speak with management and you'll get either tickets to another showing that day/evening or a refund to go to another showing.

A few awesome theaters will even give you tickets to another showing that day and a voucher for free tickets later as compensation.

This is hilarious. Two years ago I saw Ruth Badger Ginsburg at the E Street Cinema. She was there to see “The Big Short.” Yeah, I’d definitely put her in the “low class” crowd.
