I rode in one with a commercial realtor--does that count? There were four of us as passengers.

My FIL who lives in Oregon who is in real estate. A polar bear cries every time he fires that thing up.

My husband drives one. He's had it for 7 years. It is the biggest piece of garbage on wheels-- talk about overpriced! The door handles fall off routinely; he had to have the engine replaced at 150,000 miles; etc. He originally purchased it because he is in real estate and it's a comfortable vehicle to drive clients around in. He's looking at Honda Pilots for his next vehicle.

(I have no idea why you'd judge someone for the car they drive, unless you're just a judgmental person.)

CEO of my company drives a 2005 Escalade. He won't get a new one because he believes it would be way too flashy, and even though we all know he's worth $50M+, he would be uncomfortable driving a new one to work.

He has said he'll go with a GMC Yukon for his next car. He spends a lot of time in the mountains and has a boatload of grandkids, bicycles for sport and likes to be able to throw his bike in there, etc.

We used to live in Baltimore and all the big time dealers drove Escalades. There were dozens of not hundreds of them.

A friend of ours had one for a long time. They are a big family (tall and large) and needed a comfortable car. I don’t think of Escalades as gaudy, are they that different than any very large SUV?

Yes I wonder why they drive these ridiculous vehicles that they can't park. I also think that paying that much money for a pos "luxury" American car is insane.

Yes it makes sense, which is what I said. But there are lots of big SUVs out there and the big white Escalade seems funny given that she is a blonde suburban white lady. This was during the period DH and I were watching a lot of The Wire and associated the Escalade with that.

Yup. Tacky, unlettered and sleazy profession.

I think these are rather cool looking vehicles & I wouldn’t judge anyone who drove one of these.

Or a Lincoln Navigator.

I don't know them, but I see plenty of little teeny blondes driving something like this all over the suburbs. I don't keep track of the brand and model of the ginormous parking hogs.
