This was ideal for me. Dated plenty, traveled solo and with friends, built strong friendships I have to this day, focused on school/career, and had an all around awesome life. When I met my DH, I wasn’t at all looking to have a serious boyfriend. But he was so great, that I gave in and married him.

However old you are, I think it’s important to come from a place of strength and confidence in who you are without a partner when you meet the person you marry. That comes at different points for everyone.

Met at 23, but we didn't date. Started dating at 27...became seriously really quickly (like within weeks).

But DH claims to this day that he decided he would marry me the day he met me.

We met when we were 18, started dating at 19, got engaged at 27, and married at 28.

Met at 29 (me) and 32 (him). Were serious right away and married the next year. I'm glad I met him later as I was very immature in my early/mid twenties, definitely wasn't ready to settle down (even though I desperately wanted to).
