LOL, this is some hilarious projection. Where in the post does it say she's frazzled and is anything other than a great mother? Most likely, divorced folks have a few days per week/month without their kids and that's a TON of time for dating.

I've been single since 28 - getting married soon now at 33! Met a bunch of frogs, but finally found someone that loves me and my child. He's absolutely wonderful, never married and my age.

I "settled" for a wonderful man in his 50s (now 60s). I was adamant that I did not want any more children after my divorce nor was a keen to get seriously involved with someone with same age kids. His kids are 10-15 years older than mine and it works. Everyone likes each other but no rivalry "who gets more" because they are at totally different stages of life.

I guess I mentioned it because I wasn’t looking at a man as a plan, and I had my act together, was doing ok on my own, not desperate kind of vibe.

You can't pour from an empty cup. Your friend and he OP absolutely need to be happy now, it's ultimately better for everyone around them.
