Dorothea Benton Franks’ first half dozen books. I haven’t liked the last few, but the first half dozen were wonderful Charleston-based beach reads if you like vacationing in the Low Country.

I really like Chris Bohjalian. Some of his best ones are:

The Sandcastle Girls
The Double Bind
Midwives
Skeletons at the Feast
The Light in the Ruins

Really anything of his is good, although some are better than others.

The sequel wasn't as good but was still entertaining. I'd actually strongly suggest this for an audiobook if you do those - the narrator is the guy who played Hans in Frozen and he is amazing and perfect for the role. I think that's actually one of the reasons I liked it so much.

Elin Hildebrand—loved “Blue Bistro” but all of them are easy to read and really enjoyable.

Not OP, but I think of a "beach read" as a novel that requires low level of concentration, is easy to pick up and put down, has a lighter plot lines, easy (non-dense) language and prose.
