Because some people are smarter and more mature in their 20s then others? I picked my husband in my 20s, had all my kids before 30, and we are going to celebrate our 20th anniversary next year. I don't want to be married to anyone else as I love my DH more and more every year. It is nice to have children in college/heading to college and be in my early 40s.

I believe you can pick wrong at any age, because it's a crapshoot, even after weeding out the obvious no-nos.

So if you find someone who seems nice in your twenties, PLEASE don't hold back!

Do you live in Tennessee or Oklahoma?


I've lived all over the world. I went to high school in NoVA. My DH and I went to UGA. Most of my adult life has been in DC and NoVA. Nice try with the nasty stereotypes. Want to know how I can tell you are miserable and unhappy?


So, a pretty traditional southern relationship.

Picked the wrong guy in my 20s bc I was chasing the dream of husband, house, kids. Now I have all of it and more at 31, and I'm over it. My husband isn't a dick, he's super sweet and a real family man, just no drive and really annoying

What if you picked the wrong woman to marry in your 20's? What if you wake up alone etc. etc. If you think you are a "right" person, the odds are fair that you will find a "right" guy.

I think it's a pretty big jump to go from wondering about making a hard life decision to labeling all people who meet their eventual spouse or marry in their 20s as impulsive or foolish (which seems to be your implication). That's quite normal, lucky even.
